What it is and why go

The Palacio de Minería book fair is run by UNAM's Faculty of Engineering and is the capital's longest-established fair. It fills the courtyards and halls of Manuel Tolsá's neoclassical palace on Tacuba, with a guest state each year and a programme of hundreds of launches, panels and lectures, many on science and popular knowledge, true to its university roots.

It is smaller and more intimate than the Zócalo fair, and for that reason comfortable: you can cover it in an afternoon, there are seats at the launches and the building alone justifies the visit.
