Niovela is a personal book tracking app that allows you to log books, track progress, write reviews and quotes, and organise reading lists. The app uses the Google Books API to retrieve book metadata.
Niovela is offered as a free Progressive Web App (PWA). The developer reserves the right to introduce paid plans or other premium features in the future, with prior notice.
Niovela is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. By using the app, you agree to:
Use the app only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
Not attempt to access other users' accounts or the developer's systems without authorisation.
Not use the app to distribute illegal, defamatory, abusive or rights-infringing content.
Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or copy the app or its source code for commercial purposes.
Not intentionally overload the service's servers or infrastructure.
You can use Niovela without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. The developer will not be liable for damages resulting from your failure to comply with this obligation.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
You own the content you enter into Niovela (reviews, quotes, notes, lists). By syncing it with our servers, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to store and display it to you (and, if your profile is public, to other users).
Book metadata (titles, covers, authors, descriptions) comes from the Google Books API and is subject to Google's terms of use. Niovela makes no claim to ownership of such metadata.
You agree not to post reviews or content that is false, defamatory, obscene, infringes copyright or violates applicable law. The developer may remove content that breaches these conditions.
The Niovela app, its design, code and brand are the property of the developer. No licence is granted to you over these elements beyond the personal use described in these terms.
The open-source libraries used in Niovela are subject to their respective licences, listed in the Credits section of the app.
The developer will make reasonable efforts to keep the app available, but does not guarantee a specific uptime. The service may be interrupted by maintenance, technical failures or causes beyond the developer's control.
The developer reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. In the event of permanent discontinuation, a data export mechanism will be provided.
Niovela is provided 'as is' and 'as available', without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — without limitation — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or freedom from errors.
The developer does not warrant that the app will be error-free, that stored data will not be lost, or that results obtained through the app will be accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the app, including — without limitation — loss of data, loss of profit or business interruption.
Use of Niovela is restricted to persons aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, you must not use the app. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
The developer may update these terms occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of Niovela after notification implies acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from the use of Niovela, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to the rights that consumer law grants to users in their country of residence within the European Union.
