The Monterrey International Book Fair has been organised by Tecnológico de Monterrey since 1991 and is Mexico's second most important book fair after Guadalajara. It gathers publishers from across the country and abroad at the Cintermex venue, next to Fundidora Park, with a guest of honour each year and a programme of launches, lectures and activities for children and young people.
Its motto, "letters lead north", sums up its role: for much of the north-east it is the only chance to have so many authors and publishers in the same city.
