The American book fair is a street festival, not a trade hall. The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books takes over the USC campus for a weekend in April with free stages, and the Miami Book Fair closes the year in November with a week of author events and a weekend street fair in downtown Miami.
The trade side of American publishing meets elsewhere, at industry conferences rather than at these festivals, which is why what you find here is readers, signings and outdoor booths rather than rights tables.
This page is updated whenever organisers publish new dates. If an event shows as "dates not yet announced", it is because the date is not officially confirmed, not because it will not take place.
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, on the USC campus, which draws around 150,000 people over a weekend in April.
The LA Times Festival of Books is free to attend. Miami’s author events and street fair have their own tickets and passes; check the official website.
