Start for freeThe Polish calendar rests on two events. The Warsaw International Book Fair takes place in May at the PGE Narodowy national stadium and is the country’s oldest. In autumn the Kraków Book Fair takes over at EXPO Kraków, with hundreds of author meetings across four days.
Both are open to readers: alongside the trade section there is a public programme, author meetings and books sold on the stands, usually below bookshop price.
This page is updated whenever organisers publish new dates. If a fair shows as "dates not yet announced", it is because the date is not officially confirmed, not because it will not take place.
Warsaw at the PGE Narodowy stadium and Kraków at EXPO Kraków are the two largest events of their kind in the country.
Admission rules vary between years and editions; the organisers’ official websites carry the current information.
Warsaw in late May, Kraków in late October.
