What it is and why go

FILO has a reputation as the warmest fair in the country: small next to Guadalajara, but with a carefully curated programme mixing national and international authors with special attention to Oaxaca's indigenous languages and to independent publishing. It takes place outdoors, on the Zócalo and around it, and everything is free.

The 2026 edition, the 44th, marks the fair's return after a pause, backed by the state congress to guarantee its continuity.
