LIBER 2026

The trade fair of Spanish-language publishing: three days of publishers, distributors, booksellers, agents and librarians doing business. Not a fair for buying books — it is where the books that reach the shops get decided.

What it is and why go

LIBER is an industry fair: you enter with professional accreditation, and what happens inside is buying and selling rights, closing distribution deals for Latin America, presenting new titles to booksellers and libraries, and attending conferences on the book business. It is the Spanish-language counterpart of Frankfurt or London, on a smaller scale.

It is held every year alternating between Madrid (IFEMA) and Barcelona (Fira). If you work in books — publishing, bookselling, libraries, translation, illustration — it is worth it; if you are a reader, your fair is your city's.
