Bilboko Liburu Azoka is organised by the Basque Book Chamber with the city council and is the spring reading date in the Basque Country: some fifty bookshop and publisher stalls, a daily programme of launches and signings, children's activities and equal attention to publishing in Spanish and in Basque. The 2026 edition was the 56th.
The setting is part of the plan: the Arenal is a step from the Old Town and the Arriaga theatre, and the fair can be covered in an hour, which makes it easy to pair with the city.
