What it is and why go

The Salone Internazionale del Libro started in 1988 and turns Turin into Italy’s book capital for five days a year. Large houses and tiny presses share the Lingotto halls, and the programme mixes talks, lectures, comics and a professional Rights Centre running alongside.

Each edition has a guest of honour with its own pavilion: in 2027 it is Catalan literature, with Lazio as guest region. Entry is ticketed, with a reduced rate for students.
