Bookstats is shutting down. Niovela reads the Bookstats export directly, both the CSV file from the app and the Excel file (XLSX) from the website. Your reading status, finish dates, ratings and page counts come across in a few minutes, free, and without creating an account first.
Free · No account needed · iPhone, Android and web
Written down exactly, so nothing surprises you.
Gelesen, Ungelesen, Am lesen and Abgebrochen become Read, Pending, Reading and Abandoned. Pausiert becomes Reading: started, and not given up.
Leseende becomes the date you read it, Erhalten am the date the book joined your library. Read books without a finish date count under “All time” in your stats, but in no particular year. You do not have to add dates.
Your Bewertung and the Seitenanzahl come across. If the page count is missing, Niovela takes it from the catalog.
Lesebeginn, Notizen, genre, category, price, format and Erhalten als are not imported. Niovela takes genres from the catalog.
Easiest on a computer, in the browser, while Bookstats is still running.
In the Bookstats app as a CSV file, or from your online account on bookstats.de as an Excel file (XLSX). Both have the same columns and Niovela reads both. Save the file before Bookstats switches off.
Open Niovela in your browser or in the app for iPhone or Android. No account needed. Tap your profile, then Settings → Import from Goodreads or StoryGraph. Despite the name, the same button reads Bookstats.
Niovela recognises a Bookstats export from its columns, even when e-books have no ISBN. Before anything happens, you see how many books it found and how many it can bring across.
Books with an ISBN are looked up in the catalog and get their cover and edition. Books without one come in with title and author and are filled in when you open them. At the end you see what came across, what was already there and what could not be imported.
The reason to move, not just the mechanics of moving.
No subscription, no locked stats. Everything Niovela does, it does for everyone.
Pages, genres, favorite authors, ratings, reading days and a yearly goal, from your own history.
Your library lives on your device. You only need an account to sync between devices.
Settings → Export history gives you your whole library as JSON or CSV. Leaving should be as easy as arriving.
Either one: the CSV file from the Bookstats app or the Excel file (XLSX) from your online account on bookstats.de. Niovela recognises both on its own.
Yes. The import is free, Niovela is free, and you do not need an account: your library is saved on your device.
